Our Camping Trip and Missing Home

So with the new arrival of a nephew we haven't seen, my mom getting a new job at a school I haven't visited, a little brother going off to college, and many other things we are not a part of... we have been missing home a lot lately. We wish so badly we could come home whenever we wanted to see family and friends. I hope I can get better at blogging consistently and then you all can at least know more of what's going on with us.

We are settling in to a routine with David working 60 hours a week. I have had a lot of cakes lately, pictures to come :) And we are enjoying our neighborhood. Our good friends and neighbors actually had a new baby boy, Grayson, on my birthday.

Below is a picture of me and David on my birthday. He took me to Denver where we went shopping at my new favorite store, The Container Store.... if you don't have one near you I recommend shopping online- it's worth it! And then we found this neat French Bistro off 16th street mall. It was amazing and very authentic. We only got one pic though-- sorry.

We went camping this past weekend. We live in Colorado and we have only been camping twice since we moved here. We had a great getaway weekend and we were very blessed by it. We also, as you may notice in the pictures, were on a slope the whole time. You know how if you go on a bunch of roller coasters or go skating and you feel like you are still moving the same way for a few hours afterward. Well, we felt like we were leaning forward all day yesterday after spending 24 hours and sleeping on our hill!

Our Summer in a nut shell

Ok, so I am really bad a this blogging thing. Sometimes I forget for months, sorry!

Anyways here is an update: So in June we went to Tennessee for my dad's 50 surprise birthday party. It was fun, and he was definately surprised to see us. We rented a car/ got an upgrade to a Fort Escape-- which was a nice surprise. We also got to see some of our friends which was great- we really miss them.

My mom and grandparents came up for a week at the end of June. We went to Rocky Mtn National Park and saw some pretty sites as well as a close up view of the Elk.

The last three pics are of David and me before we went to see Wicked the musical. It was amazing, and I would definately recomend it if it comes to your town!

Our Home and Neighborhood

So many of you may or may not get to come and see us. We decided to show you a little bit of our everyday in these pictures and to give you a real life feel for our home there is a video at the bottom. We actually just got the guest bedroom finished yesterday (4months after we moved in!). This is a picture/ video tour (sans the kitchen-- too messy, but you aren't missing much- it's about 3' x 6':).

We have nice big windows in the living room (which helps a TON during the summer when you don't have air conditioning-- yes, most homes in Colorado don't-- shocking, I know!)

I am attempting to sew/ recover this cool 70's rocker loveseat thingy.....any sewing tips would be appreciated- right now we just wrap the cushions in the fabric for show :

Here is this cool Place back behind our house. I just found out that we had all of this open space, ponds, trails, and the Poudre River basically in our backyard just this week. Here is David riding his bike.

Long Awaited Update

So we haven't been keeping up with the blog to well lately, so here is a bit of what is going on..........

First of all, Whitney Hudson recently got married to Michael Cantrell. Their wedding was in Nashville and Eryn flew out for the event.

Eryn's going to part time at her job at Cafe Columbine, and David starts the long hours of research this summer. We are missing friends and family and wanting EVERYONE to come see us and the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.
